Chicks Challenge #5: Life is a Picnic

It's summertime! And do you know what I really love doing during this warm season? Packing my old and trusted picnic baskets with delicious outdoor foods grab a gingham throw and heading out for a relaxed summer picnic with friends or family. Picnics or outdoor meals are always perfect times for family bonding and catching up with friends. There is something about the simplicity of picnic that makes it a relaxed activity while being so much fun.

I love the memories that gingham invokes. Just seeing that pattern says summer picnic to me. So this week's Color and Inspiration Challenge is Picnics!

Use the just the inspiration, the colors or both in your card or other project. Use images of baskets, gardens, swings, trees, foods, striped backgrounds, designer paper with picnic themes...whatever you wish. Create somthing "picnicy". It can be a card or other crafty item.
Our colors this week are Pure Poppy, Kraft and White.

Challenge #1: Bright zingy colors

Hi, friends. It's Chris (cdjks) with the first official challenge here at Papertrey Chicks! This week and every first Monday of the month will be an Inspiration & Color Challenge. I found a fun web site for color combinations the other day, and that's where I got this combination. As I worked with it, I found it to be quite a challenge indeed!

My sample card uses the FTL 86 layout from the Clean & Simple blog. A little bit bright, but fun. I'm can't wait to see what you come up with for these colors.

Details: stamps - Guidelines 2, Giga Guidlines, Background Basics: Stars, Women of Life; paper - Soft Stone, Pure Poppy, Orange Zest, Spring Moss, Hawaiian Shores; ink - Hawaiian Shores; accessories - circle punches (1 3/4", 1 1/8", 3/4", 1/2"), dimensionals

Week #0 Inspiration Challenge: Argyle!

Aye, bless yer wee 'lil souls, Lassies! 'Tis time to do a Challenge with ARGYLE!
The argyle (occasionally argyll) pattern is made of diamonds in a diagonal checkerboard arrangement.

The argyle pattern is derived from the tartan of Clan Campbell, of Argyll in western Scotland [1], and from the patterned socks worn by Scottish Highlanders since at least the 17th century.
Let's Get Inky!

So now that we know what argyle is, and where it came from, lets see what we can do with it!

Break out your stamps Chickies! It's time to get inky!
If you have the new Argyle stamp! Great! If not, lets see what you can come up with for some sort of Scotish inspiration (plaids, colors etc).

Use Mr. Linky below to link to your card.
